When a user cancels a calendar invitation, the invitation is not removed from a user's personal calendar, such as Outlook or Google. Calendar-related ServiceNow notifications for updates or cancellations must use the same unique ID to identify the calendar of interest, but they do not do this by default.

Steps to Reproduce

Create a new change request. The instance does the following:

  • Sends a calendar invite with unique calendar identifier (UID) of "UID:CHG00000001", for example.
  • Alters the change's Assigned to value. It triggers a "change.calendar.notify.remove" event for the above calendar invitation.
  • Sends a new calendar notification intended to remove the above calendar, but the UID uses a watermark string instead of the original UID above, for example: UID:Ref:MSG0000211.

When the calendar is received in the user's email, it does not match up to the original invite ID, and the cancellation is not processed.

In the change.calendar.integration.remove Email Template, change UID:${uid} to  UID:${number}.
