When personalizing the variable form via the variables related list, it loses the form sections

Description

When a variable is opened from Maintain Item, it opens in Item view which is actually the same as the default view for a variable. If you try personalizing this form and adding fields, form sections disappear after saving.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Log in to a base system (out of box) demo instance.
  2. Navigate to maintain item and open item that has variables like Emergency change.
  3. Note that view is item view.
  4. Scroll down to variables and open one variable.
Note that the view is item view for variable (inherited from catalog item view and similar or same as default view for variable)
  5. Personalize the form and add a field.
  6. Save the form.
Note that form sections are not visible. When adding the field on the current form section, the form should stay as it is with other form sections.

Workaround

Create the form or form sections for the item_option_new table under Item view. You can also copy the Item_option_new table from Default view to Item view and it will create the form sections for a variable form. Then, when you modify the form section in Item view, the changes are saved.
