Group and Role Relations not Audited on User records

KB Summary by Now Assist

Description

Group and Role relations are either inconsistently audited in the History list of user records or are not audited at all, depending on the instance version. In Berlin, only deleted relations are displaying, and only after sys_history_set is deleted. In Calgary / Dublin this information is not displayed at all. This is happening regardless of whether sys_user_grmember and sys_user_has_role are audited.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Navigate to User Administration > Users.
  2. Right-click on the header and select Personalize > Dictionary.
  3. Set Audit on the Collection Type record to True.
  4. Navigate to User Administration > Users.
  5. Select any user
  6. In the Groups related list, click Edit.
  7. Add any Group from Collection to Groups List.
  8. Click Save.
  9. In the Groups related list, click Edit.
  10. Move the selected Group back into Collection.
  11. Click Save
  12. Right-click on the header and select History > List.
  13. In the Audit History, note that there are no entries present for Type = Relation that show the addition / removal of the group.
  14. (In Berlin only) Press Delete.
    The User record opens.
  15. Right-click on the header and select History > List.
There is a Relation record for the removal of the group, but not for the addition of the group. The same results occur if Audit is set to True on sys_user_grmember.

Workaround

There is no workaround for this Known Error at this time.
