Verifying custom POP settings



Overview


If your instance downloads messages from a POP server your company maintains (rather than a ServiceNow POP server), verify your instance connects to the proper POP server.

 

Procedure


 If your instance downloads messages from a POP server your company maintains (rather than a ServiceNow POP server), verify your instance connects to the proper POP server.

  1. Log in to the instance.
  2. Navigate to System Properties > Email.
  3. Verify the following email properties (see table) and click Save.

glide.email.read.active Enable email receiving (POP3) Yes
glide.pop3.server Incoming (POP) mail server, if different from outgoing (SMTP) mail server URL to your POP3 server. For example, pop.yourdomain.com.
glide.pop3.user Incoming (POP) mail account name, if different from outgoing (SMTP) mail account name Email address to use for POP authentication. For example, helpdesk@yourdomain.com.
 glide.pop3.password Incoming (POP) mail account password, if different from outgoing (SMTP) mail account password  Password for the POP3 server. Contact your POP server administrator for this value.
